Data recovery is a multi-step process that varies depending on the type of failure. Here’s an honest overview of how we work, from the moment your drive arrives to the moment your data is delivered back to you.
Step 1: Assessment
Every job starts with a free diagnostic. We examine the drive using professional tools to determine what’s wrong — whether it’s a logical issue (deleted data, corrupted file system), a firmware problem, or a physical failure (failed heads, seized motor, damaged platters). Within 24 hours you receive a written report and fixed quote.
Step 2: Imaging
Once you approve the quote, the first priority is creating a full sector-by-sector image of the drive onto a healthy destination drive. This is the most critical step. We use the DeepSpar Disk Imager — designed specifically for unstable drives — to extract as much data as possible while minimising stress on the original media. For mechanically damaged drives, this happens in our HEPA-filtered cleanroom.
Step 3: Repair and Extraction
Once we have a working image, we use the PC-3000 UDMA and associated software to repair file system structures, reconstruct directories, and extract your files. For firmware issues, this may involve rewriting or patching the drive’s service area. For physical cases, this step follows the cleanroom head replacement work.
Industry-leading HDD diagnostic and repair platform used by professional labs worldwide.
Purpose-built for imaging unstable and damaged drives without causing further deterioration.
All physical work is performed in a particle-free environment to protect platters during head replacement.
Step 4: Verification and Delivery
Recovered files are checked for integrity and delivered back to you on a new drive or via secure transfer. You only pay once you’ve confirmed the data you needed has been recovered.
