Yes. SouthBit regularly recovers data from drives sent from other African countries, including Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, and beyond. We also accept drives from Europe, the Middle East, and other international locations.
How international shipping works
International clients typically ship via DHL, FedEx, or a similar international courier. The drive is addressed to our Claremont lab in Cape Town. For customs purposes, you’ll need to include a commercial invoice declaring the item as a faulty storage device being sent for data recovery, with a realistic value (typically $10 USD).
What to include
Along with the drive, please include: a completed SouthBit book-in form (available on our website), a commercial invoice for customs, your contact details, and a description of the fault. We’ll guide you through the specifics when you contact us.
Payment for international clients
We accept EFT bank transfers in ZAR as well as international bank transfers (SWIFT). Payment is only due after recovery is successful and you’ve approved the quote — our no fix, no fee policy applies regardless of where you’re based.
Return shipping
Once recovery is complete, your recovered data is copied to a new destination drive and shipped back via international courier. Shipping costs are quoted separately and depend on the destination country.
