Courier your data recovery job

You’ve chosen us to recover your precious data, now you need to get your hard drive, SSD or storage device to us. We receive data recovery jobs from all over South Africa, Africa and even other continents via courier. As long as you can get your storage device to us safely, we’ll handle the rest.

How to package your HDD/SSD/device

  • No cables or accessories, only the device needing recovery. We do not accept cables, if cables are sent they will not be returned.
  • If you want to include a spare (destination) drive for the recovered data, that is fine. If not, we will quote on one.
  • Wrap the device in a few layers of bubble wrap. HDDs are very sensitive and we want to protect them in transit.
  • Complete a book in form and add it to the package.
  • Place the above items into a box to provide further protection.
  • NB: If you do not include a book in form, or at least a note with your name and phone number, we will not know who the drives belongs to when it arrives.

Send us your package

Use any reputable courier or similar service. We make use of The Courier Guy and can recommend their services. Other options exist such as PostNet counter to door etc. 

Feel free to notify us that you have sent your job in, and we will let you know once it arrives. Assessments are generally sent 24 hours after the package arrives.

International packages

If you are sending a device internationally for data recovery into South Africa, you will need to provide certain things for import reasons:

  • Completed Southbit book in form.
  • Commercial tax invoice.
  • Specify a value for the faulty item ($10 is often a realistic value).
  • Specify that the device is being sent for data recovery from a faulty storage device.
